Position Overview: The IT Application Support Specialist is integral in ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems within the organization. This role involves collaborating with various technology teams to facilitate the effective integration of functions, identifying opportunities for system enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and implementing innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining systems scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and troubleshooting through comprehensive analysis.
  • Working in partnership with multiple technology sectors and management teams to ensure cohesive function integration to achieve organizational goals.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to assess system impacts and support needs.
  • Identifying potential risks, vulnerabilities, and security concerns, and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Providing mentorship to junior analysts, offering guidance and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Influencing strategic decisions through expert advice and consultation.
  • Conducting thorough analyses to identify problems and devise creative solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in application support.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship building.
  • A service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in various technical tools and systems.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree.

Additional Responsibilities: The IT Application Support Specialist will also oversee the maintenance of a robust IT Service Management (ITSM) support model, collaborating with application development teams, production management, and infrastructure teams. This role necessitates expertise in Level 3 support and Subject Matter Expert (SME) software platforms, along with a solid foundation in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration Management, and scripting automation.

Key Duties Include:

  • Leading critical incident resolution and managing change initiatives.
  • Presenting tooling and platform remediation strategies to the architectural committee.
  • Promoting a DevSecOps culture through agile software engineering practices.
  • Designing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and technical specifications for IT support dashboards.
  • Implementing reliable mechanisms such as autoscaling, load balancing, and system resilience.
  • Guiding technical teams in enforcing ITSM protocols.
  • Providing specialized advice for readiness assessments of new tooling capabilities.

Language Proficiency: Conversational English proficiency is required, along with experience in production support and application monitoring tools such as Splunk. The organization values diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds.
