Job Title: Legal Operations Specialist

CIMMYT is a leading international organization dedicated to solving complex problems in agriculture. We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Operations Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

The Legal Operations Specialist will play a critical role in streamlining our legal processes and enhancing efficiency. This position involves leading innovative initiatives to improve the delivery of legal services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective contract management strategies to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel to identify and implement process improvements, best practices, and workflow optimization.
  • Design and implement tools to streamline new or existing practices and manage the design, rollout, and training for new systems.
  • Maintain and improve processes, procedures, guidelines, best practices, and tools to provide accurate and timely services.
  • Manage the Legal Department's performance through key metrics and KPIs, preparing reports, data analyses, and presentations as needed.
  • Provide project management support across the full range of legal subjects handled by the team.
  • Scale and implement operations strategies, technology, projects, initiatives, and priorities for the Legal Department.
Requirements
  • Law degree and Project Management Certification.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with legal operations and management in-house or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in technology-related business tools, including Contract Management Software, ticketing software, Adobe Sign, Time Tracker, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and e-mail (Outlook), Zoom, and Teams.
  • Strategic thinker able to think holistically while focusing on day-to-day operations management and driving results.
  • Advanced level of English, with a minimum of C2 on CEFR.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate precisely and professionally with internal and external sources.
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, work independently, maintain an organized work environment, and be part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards with a strong commitment to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong program and project management skills, with experience supporting the implementation of multiple workstream activities.
