Location/Division Specific Information

Within the realm of Medical Communications, we elevate patient health by providing essential medical information services to our clients, patients, and healthcare professionals. We collaborate with healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and pharmaceutical clients to assist them in navigating global regulatory and compliance challenges. Our responsibilities include managing medical information inquiries, documenting adverse events and product complaints, reporting product launches, preparing standardized responses to inquiries, and developing process enhancements for client implementation.

Discover Meaningful Work:

Oversees critical client relationships and manages the operational aspects of the program team delivering medical and clinical information to boost operational quality and client commitment. Provides strategic guidance for program operations and contributes to team budgeting, recruitment, and forecasting. Mentors, trains, and supervises junior managers and program staff to ensure services are delivered in alignment with client and departmental policies and contractual obligations.

A Day in the Life:

  • May supervise program staff delivering medical and clinical information, leveraging medical expertise to participate in, manage, and conduct quality reviews of medical and clinical work.
  • Oversees and/or completes the development of client reports and procedural documentation.
  • Maintains comprehensive program knowledge, focusing on medical and clinical content, troubleshooting program challenges, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, including SOPs, protocols, and regulations through quality monitoring of staff performance.
  • Acts as a liaison between clients, program management, and staff for operational matters such as workflow processes, resource availability, and new initiatives affecting the program.
  • Coordinates all facets of program training, including conducting training sessions, developing curricula, and maintaining training records.
  • Serves as a resource for frontline staff, assisting them in leading their scope of service.
  • May act as a frontline healthcare professional to cover services, including answering medical inquiries and documenting contacts, adverse events, and product complaints.
  • Manages staff responsibilities, which may include interviewing, job description formulation, professional development, performance management, coaching, employee counseling, and separations. Approves actions related to salary administration, hiring, corrective measures, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, leave requests, and overtime.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Healthcare Degree (Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Nursing, or Associate's Degree in Nursing with two years of nursing experience).

Experience

  • Prior experience (approximately 5+ years) in the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector with responsibilities related to counseling or providing medical information, including leadership experience (at least 1 year).

Management Role:

  • Leads experienced professionals and/or subordinate management who operate with autonomy in their assignments. Often heads one or more sections or a small department. Responsible for training and developing subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning tasks, meeting deadlines, assisting subordinates with complex inquiries or issues, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies, and developing and implementing unit policies and procedures. Recommends personnel actions such as employment, discipline, and termination; initiates and communicates various personnel actions (performance and salary reviews, promotions, time off requests, timesheet and expense report approvals).
