Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment, to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Respond to guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues and provide solutions.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs for buildings, and maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building.
  • Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and complete thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guestroom items.
  • Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
  • Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, as well as external landscaping sprinklers.
  • Display basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
  • Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
  • Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience.
