About the Role

International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Scientist to join our Health & Biosciences division in Mexico, Central America, Colombia, and Ecuador. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers in the baking and milling industry, leveraging your expertise in bakery enzymes to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers on the use and application of our bakery enzyme products, working closely with colleagues from our global organization.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our bakery enzyme product portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve customer confidence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the sales team, regional industry leader, and colleagues in the bakery application team to deliver customer-facing activities, including customer visits, virtual calls, pilot plant and production trials, and technical backup.
  • Design and execute systematic pilot plant experiments in our application lab, analyzing results to optimize product performance and document findings in technical reports and presentations.
  • Explore and evaluate new business opportunities, identifying key success factors to drive growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in customer development projects, concepts, and internal development projects, contributing to the development and documentation of enzyme products throughout the commercialization process.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in bakery or food science, preferably with a Bachelor's degree or higher. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of experience in product development or a related function within a food ingredients supplier, the milling- or baking industry, with a proven interest and knowledge in the specific field. Experience or competencies in the use of bakery enzymes will be considered a significant advantage.
