We are seeking a skilled Category Manager to lead our Metal Fabrication category. This critical role will involve managing a complex scope of responsibilities, including supplier qualification, quality assurance, and market trend analysis.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Metal Fabrication category, ensuring supplier qualification, quality assurance, and market trend analysis.
- Partner with business unit Procurement teams to transition suppliers efficiently and support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs.
- Develop and execute a detailed category strategy, expanding the Preferred Supplier Program and segmentation based on business needs and effective procurement principles.
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring supply continuity and delivering best total value through RFx activities.
- Monitor and mitigate supplier risk, including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance.
- Deliver category productivity through price, value analysis (VA), or continuous improvement projects.
- Oversee Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and regular supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within the category.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of procurement/sourcing experience with large-scale, complex, and/or regional/global categories of spend.
- Demonstrated success in assessing, negotiating, and managing vendors.
- Collaborative, facilitation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Professional communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to travel as needed.
