About the Team

The Research Operations team is an integral part of a diverse group of professionals within ZMEX Zillow Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V. This multidisciplinary team comprises Customer and Partner Insights Strategists, UX Researchers, Behavioral Scientists, and Population Scientists. Together, we contribute significantly to the overarching product and marketing organizations. Our team is characterized by a collaborative, energetic, and supportive atmosphere, dedicated to enhancing user experiences across various platforms.

About the Role

The Senior Research Operations Program Manager will collaborate with the research team to enable peak performance, driving impact, scalability, and operational efficiencies. This role involves close interaction with research, design, content strategy, product management, marketing, engineering, and data science teams. The primary focus will be on executing operational tasks while fostering the growth and evolution of the Research Operations function.

  • Research Planning: Establish, implement, and refine annual planning, prioritization, and project tracking.
  • Capacity Allocation: Develop a framework for resource coordination across various projects and teams.
  • Collaborative Alignment: Work alongside Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Design Operations to enhance alignment across teams, including timelines and systems.
  • Strategic Influence: Identify opportunities for research to shape business priorities and strategies; create programs to address these needs.
  • Operational Excellence: Support the mission and principles of the Research & Insights team; manage special initiatives and workgroups.

Success in this role requires a blend of strategic thinking and tactical execution, along with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization.

  • Lead cross-team planning to ensure a holistic view of all research conducted across disciplines to inform business and product strategies.
  • Operationalize resource management to prioritize Zillow's key objectives.
  • Collaborate with research operations leadership to define team goals and optimize resource utilization.
  • Engage with Research & Insights team members to identify opportunities for enhancing the effectiveness of research processes.
  • Create and maintain standardized processes for research communications and documentation.
  • Oversee project documentation and status tracking to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Facilitate progress on initiatives, addressing concerns promptly to maintain momentum.
  • Prioritize competing demands effectively, providing clear rationale and practical solutions.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • Utilize strategic tools and data to analyze trends and enhance processes.
  • Conduct meetings to drive progress towards objectives, establishing clear next steps.
  • Report on the achievements and impacts of managed programs.
  • Maintain updated documentation of operational processes.

This position is categorized as remote, allowing employees to work from a location of their choice within Mexico, preferably Mexico City, to facilitate occasional in-office events.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned Research Operations Program Manager with a passion for fostering team cohesion, building trust with partners, and driving collaborative improvements at scale. Your excellent communication skills and collaborative nature enable you to create exceptional customer experiences through effective partnerships.

  • 4+ years of experience in research operations or project/program management.
  • 3+ years of experience in technology or user experience research.
  • Proven ability to analyze processes and identify challenges for business improvement.
  • Skilled in managing multiple complex projects and executing hands-on tasks.
  • Experience leading planning processes in tech or research environments.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Familiarity with agile product development.
  • Experience communicating with diverse audiences, from team members to executives.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing internal-facing project teams.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to balance business needs with customer experience enhancements.
  • Familiarity with Jira tools is advantageous.
