**Job Summary**

The Culinary Operations Manager is responsible for the overall success of our daily kitchen operations at the Ixtapan de la Sal Marriott Hotel & Spa. This role requires a leader who can inspire and motivate their team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high-quality products.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Develops and implements culinary standards, procedures, and menu items to ensure consistency and quality across all outlets.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation, including managing employee schedules, training, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborates with the executive chef and other department heads to achieve business objectives and optimize operational efficiency.
• Ensures compliance with food safety, handling, and sanitation standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Develops and implements environmentally friendly processes and procedures for food preparation, energy use, and waste management in the restaurant.
• Maintains purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards to ensure freshness, quality, and inventory control.
• Operates and maintains all department equipment, reporting malfunctions and ensuring timely repairs or replacements.
• Supports procedures for food & beverage portion and waste controls to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
• Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met and corrective actions are taken as needed.
• Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays to enhance the guest experience.

**Requirements**

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
• OR
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve business objectives.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective strategies, procedures, and systems to drive operational efficiency and quality improvement.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.

**Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year**
