Global Thermoplastic Resins Sales Specialist

Nexeo Plastics, a leading global thermoplastic resins distributor, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Account Manager to drive profitable growth in a defined territory. The ideal candidate will provide solutions to current and prospective customers, growing Nexeo's share with existing and new customers through the sale of product and service offerings.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Director – Northwest Region, this role is accountable for achieving volume, revenue, and margin growth targets. The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, acquiring, penetrating, managing, and retaining customers in a business-to-business selling environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Territory Planning: Understand the territory environment, current accounts, prospects, competitors, and suppliers.
- Account Planning & Customer Knowledge: Understand customer objectives, needs, and profitability drivers.
- Ownership & Performance Focus: Take responsibility for and ownership of the territory.
- Coordination & Leadership: Develop relationships within Nexeo and within the customer organization.
- Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date and informed on the market, industry, and regulatory issues.
- Technical Knowledge: Identify technical needs of customers and communicate solutions to drive growth.
- Value Proposition: Understand and sell the entire value offering from Nexeo.
- Communication: Present to customers with awareness of customer context.
- Negotiations & Solution Agreement: Create win-win solutions with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Implementation Management: React to additional customer demands and needs.
- Sales Administration: Manage MS Office and CRM.
- Pipeline and Quotation Management: Manage the pipeline proactively, recognizing customers' stage in the decision cycle.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of plastics distribution sales or related industry experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is required.
- Willingness to travel 50%.
- Highly adept at prospecting and customer acquisition.
- Proven track record of delivering consistent and long-term growth.
- Ability to build relationships and resolve customer complaints or concerns.
- Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
