About the Team
The Startup Sales division is tasked with the acquisition, expansion, and retention of Startup and Commercial clientele. As a Sales Executive within this team, you will pinpoint opportunities for both new and existing clients to maximize their utilization of Stripe, implement scalable sales strategies to boost revenue in your designated area, and orchestrate comprehensive campaigns to enhance the adoption of Stripe's services.
Responsibilities
- Identify high-potential prospective clients and employ effective prospecting techniques to generate leads that drive revenue growth in your area.
- Manage contract renewals and lead commercial negotiations to enhance and retain existing customer revenue and Stripe's market presence.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales cycle strategies aimed at driving product adoption, securing new product sales, and ensuring client retention at scale among current Stripe customers.
- Address complex client requirements and collaborate with product, sales, risk, and operations teams to enhance our offerings.
- Oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closure for startups and small to medium-sized enterprises.
- Generate leads independently through cold outreach, networking, research, and territory management.
- Ensure every potential Stripe user has a positive experience with each interaction, regardless of the deal size.
- Recognize and comprehend users' challenges to propose tailored Stripe solutions.
- Ensure that internal teams are aligned for user success by coordinating with various Stripe departments.
Who You Are
We seek a well-rounded strategic seller capable of forging strong relationships with Stripe's clients and managing high-velocity deal cycles. If you are driven, intelligent, tenacious, and a collaborative team player, we are eager to hear from you.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a client-facing or sales role.
- Proficiency in understanding complex technical environments and building strong relationships with technical clients.
- Ability to drive and close upsell opportunities for additional Stripe products through long-term, consultative engagements.
- Analytical skills to navigate complex pricing and cost considerations.
- Experience managing projects with input from cross-functional teams.
- A talent for collaborating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Capacity and motivation to thrive in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role at a rapidly growing technology firm.
- Familiarity with the digital and online payments sector.
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL, or a willingness to learn.
In-Office Expectations
Office-assigned employees in most locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the office or with clients each month. This expectation may vary based on role, team, and location. Some teams may have greater in-office attendance requirements to adequately support our clients and workflows, which will be discussed by the hiring manager. This approach aims to balance in-person collaboration and learning while supporting flexibility when feasible.
