About the Role

As a Pharmaceutical Production Operations Manager at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd., you will oversee production operations, ensuring seamless implementation of company policies and procedures, emphasizing adherence to safety, health, environment (SHE) standards and cGMP practices.

Your role involves maintaining quality standards, coordinating training initiatives, and managing resources efficiently to achieve departmental goals. You will work closely with internal departments, auditors, inspectors, and government officials to ensure effective implementation of company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective implementation of company policies and procedure at production department.
  • Participate in activities as nominated by the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) department, and ensure that all SHE policies are implemented in the production areas.
  • Ensure that products are produced as per cGMP practices and stored in cGMP compliant environments, supporting implementation of quality policy and procedures.
  • Ensure maintenance and upkeep of production area and equipment, and ensure that Qualification, Calibration and Validation program is implemented as per SOPs.
  • Implement company's training philosophy and SOP, and provide resources (internal and external) for any identified training needs.
  • Provide hygienic work environment to the employees and visitors/contractors in the production department.
  • Evaluate proper material availability and production planning by coordinating with Supply Chain Management department.
  • Review quality notifications, ensure that process lead time and product yields are as per requirement, and ensure effective implementation of self-inspection audit program for the production department.
  • Set departmental goals in line to the annual goals for the site, and conduct/review employee performance appraisal for the department.
  • Attend scheduled corporate training's and meetings, provide adequate number of qualified and trained personnel for departmental activities, ensure effective utilization of resources, and review continual improvement in quality and safety practices in the department.
  • Receive audit intimation from various agencies, and provide full support to auditors/inspectors/officials to render their duty.
  • Prepare budget and monitor actual monthly expenses against approved budget for the department.
  • Approve capital and revenue expenditure indents for equipment, consumables, infrastructure and manpower.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering or Pharmaceutical Sciences and an MBA.
  • Minimum Work Experience: 15 years.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies and practices to ensure their implementation in production areas.
    • Understanding of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards and their application in production processes.
    • Experience in supporting the implementation of quality policies and procedures to maintain product quality.
    • Able to oversee maintenance and upkeep of production areas and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
    • Familiarity with Qualification, Calibration, and Validation programs.
    • Able to prepare departmental budgets and monitor expenses.
    • Understanding of energy conservation measures and sustainability practices to minimize wastage.
    • Familiarity with Good Engineering Practices (GEP) for efficient departmental operations.
  • Behavioural Skills:
    • Leadership skills to set departmental goals, conduct performance appraisals, and coordinate corporate initiatives.
    • Effective communication skills for liaising with internal departments, auditors, inspectors, and government officials.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage resources, schedules, and projects effectively.
    • Team management abilities to ensure qualified and trained personnel are available for departmental activities.
    • Problem-solving skills to address challenges and drive continual improvement in quality and safety practices.
