About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patient Advocacy Manager to join our team at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical. As a key member of our patient advocacy team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing successful relationships with patient organizations in Mexico and Central America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for patient organizations in Mexico and Central America, ensuring timely execution of patient advocacy strategies and tactics.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to facilitate coordination of local patient advocacy initiatives.
  • Conduct meetings and teleconferences with key stakeholders to leverage national advocacy resources and ensure alignment with development priorities.
  • Attend key events, conferences, and conduct surveys to generate new patient referrals.
  • Analyze advocacy group resource needs to identify gaps in disease awareness resources and facilitate information requirements for prioritized advocacy groups.
  • Represent the patient perspective during planning strategy meetings and contribute to the successful implementation and achievement of goals.
  • Identify and prioritize patient organizations and affiliated healthcare professional groups for advocacy engagement and direct patient/physician outreach.
  • Manage critical relationships with stakeholders and patient advocacy groups through the compliant exchange of complex scientific information related to Ultragenyx areas of research, product development, and commercialization.
  • Support and monitor NPP process as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience in dealing with patient services programs.
  • Experience in NPP access processes in Mexico.
  • Knowledge about NGOs management.
  • Intimate knowledge of patient's personal information management and relevant legislation for interaction with patients.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of patient support programs is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Mexican patient advocacy landscape.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • BS degree in science, health-related area, or NGO management.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Travel: approximately 40%.
