**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Billing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating revenue by determining charges, invoicing customers, and forwarding invoices to customers. They will also secure revenue by collecting accounts, monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts, and making payment arrangements.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Obtain patient information from consultants and determine patient invoices per written contracts by capturing services noted in service records; clarify services with consultants and dispatch.
  • Identify responsible parties by examining service records and dispatch information.
  • Resolve billing issues by discussing contracts with third-party payers (facilities); negotiate settlements.
  • Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients; monitor payments; follow up with patients when payment lapses occur.
  • Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from consultants, dispatch, and customers; resolve valid or invalid authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries and following procedures.
  • Resolve collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinate contact with collections departments.
  • Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; verify totals; prepare reports for weekly A/R meetings.
  • Review X-ray subcontractor invoices for accuracy; negotiate services and costs per contracts; forward accurate invoices to accounts payable.
  • Answer phones, gather information from facilities/pharmacies (customers) and forward information to staffing; assist customers with needs when possible.
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; report needed changes.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Provide secretarial support by entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing work; answering the telephone; relaying messages; maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Accomplish both personal and company goals and enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
  • Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
  • Serve company and contribute to team effort by backing up other office positions; completing other assigned duties and accomplishing results as needed.

**Requirements**

  • Must have an associate degree or higher.
  • Must have prior billing experience.
  • Detail-oriented.
