Billing Support Specialist I

PURPOSE
The Billing Support Specialist I is the first point of contact for customers and agents with billing-related inquiries. This entry-level role supports invoice copies, dispute status updates, statement requests, and general billing guidance. The Specialist ensures timely, professional, and clear communication while effectively triaging and escalating requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond promptly to inbound inquiries related to invoices, statements, dispute statuses, and payment instructions.
- Provide step-by-step guidance on billing and dispute processes.
- Navigate multiple internal systems to research and gather necessary information.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams while maintaining ownership of customer communication.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and resolutions.
- Deliver a customer-first experience through clear and empathetic communication.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with learning and using multiple software systems.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 0–2 years of customer service, billing, or administrative experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: Job is typically performed in a general office environment or remote.
