The Partnerships Manager manages, activates, and evaluates Marriott’s current commercial partnership portfolio in CALA and develops new partnerships with key organizations across CALA markets.
This role fulfills Marriott’s business objectives and marketing goals by identifying and developing marketing initiatives, analyzing business trends and benchmarking the competitors, strengthening relationships with key executives at these partners and with internal stakeholders, and tracking and measuring the value generated from Marriott. The position will be responsible for proactively identifying, securing, and optimizing highly valued marketing opportunities with current partners and researching and analyzing opportunities with potential new ones.
The position requires strong interpersonal skills and negotiation, communication, planning, and analytical skills. Success is predicated on using a total account management approach to work with internal and external stakeholders across disciplines such as Global Partnerships, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Finance, and Operations. To do so, he/she must communicate effectively with various management-level associates throughout the organization, understand internal stakeholder business objectives and constraints, represent partner interests, and manage expectations accordingly.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
**Partner promotions**
- Create & oversee partner promotion campaigns with the Digital and Revenue Management teams implementing them.
**Partner Management**
- Act as Marriott’s day-to-day point of contact for partners as determined by the Director, Partnerships, including leading the management of Preferred Partnerships in CALA
- Develop a thorough understanding of partner objectives, strategies, and organization and a strong working knowledge of all relevant contracts, agreements, and obligations.
- Broaden and strengthen business relationships with partners to leverage the partnership across the enterprise and other business units.
- Audit all partner channels to check that Marriott information is correct (updating as required), identify what other partner brands are doing with the partner, and identify additional opportunities to leverage with the partner.
- Provide ongoing support to internal stakeholders in identifying opportunities, negotiating, developing, and measuring joint marketing programs with assigned partners to address business and/or brand needs, including brokering selected opportunities to appropriate internal stakeholders in the Area and Brand teams, Digital, Loyalty, etc...
- Analyze and interpret partner (and Marriott) data to identify trends and opportunities to inform future partner strategies and activities
- Track and measure the value to Marriott of each partner, according to specific partnership evaluation scorecard
- Elevate awareness and effectively communicate the benefits and obligations of existing Partnership Agreements across the Corporation and the hotels.
- Strategic planning, developing, and executing comprehensive partnership strategies to drive revenue growth, position the Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty program through the partnerships and align initiatives with internal teams with overall business goals.
- Help develop the partner activation plan and manage its day-to-day implementation, including project management of joint initiatives, communications planning, budget management, and regular partner status updates,as well as managing agency resources if appropriate
- Work with relevant global stakeholders (Loyalty, Global Partnerships) to secure appropriate resource to support partner activities in the region
**General**
- Annual competitor analysis to identify what Marriott’s competitors are doing in CALA in partnerships
- Supporting the Director of Partnerships proactively identifying and evaluating potential partnership opportunities aligned with the organization´s goals and objectives (i.e., entertainment, low-cost airlines, restaurants, etc. ) to build a compelling business case for partnership, support its sell-in across both businesses and support its integration into the partnership portfolio.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify key industry trends.
- Act as the first point of contact for any new potential partnership inquiries, filtering proposals according to agreed criteria, identifying promising opportunities, and responding to the proposer in a timely manner.
