Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Account Executive to join our team at Daniel J Edelman Holdings. As an Account Executive, you will play a key role in managing daily account work, contributing to larger projects, and supervising junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Account Management: Manage small projects and contribute to larger projects as directed by project leaders.
  2. Client Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their businesses, products, markets, personnel, and outside influencers.
  3. Public Engagement: Learn and implement public engagement and social media programs to achieve client goals.
  4. Media Relations: Identify and work with target media, developing a network of traditional and online media contacts and influencers.
  5. Content Creation: Write press materials, internal communications, and edit/proofread written materials for quality and adherence to writing style.
  6. Project Management: Manage projects using organizational skills, working with colleagues, vendors, and support agencies, and keeping project leaders apprised of status.
  7. Account Administration: Provide account administration, including meeting deadlines, troubleshooting problems, attending client meetings and conference calls, and reporting activity and coverage.
  8. Communications Marketing Tactics: Coordinate Communications Marketing tactics by managing workflow, logistics, and interaction with media and influencers.
  9. Financial Management: Understand project budget parameters, pricing structures, and overservice, and record and submit time, expenses, and POs to the right project codes on a timely basis.
  10. Team Leadership: Manage and delegate to assistant account executives and interns, including setting clear expectations and deadlines, providing needed resources, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
  11. Performance Appraisal: Contribute to the performance appraisal process for peers, managers, and junior staff.
  12. Professional Development: Commit to continuous learning to improve tactical skills by attending Edelman Learning Institute classes and seeking other training, including on-the-job training and mentoring.
  13. Company Values: Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman's values, Code of Ethics, and Business Conduct.
Requirements
  1. Experience: At least one year of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, media, or publishing.
  2. Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
  3. Skills: Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals, strong research, writing, and editing skills, and the ability to develop media contacts/relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Advanced Education: A master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
  2. Industry Knowledge: Intricate level of understanding of the account(s), the clients' businesses, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, opposition, etc.
  3. Media Outreach: Fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies.
