About the Role

American International Group (AIG) is seeking a highly skilled Trade Credit Country Manager to lead our Trade Credit operations in Mexico. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for launching and managing our Trade Credit operations in Mexico, developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth, and leading a local underwriting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Launch and manage Trade Credit operations in Mexico, including producing, underwriting, and managing a local portfolio in line with underwriting strategy and adhering to underwriting standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, enhance profitability, and maintain a strong market presence.
  • Lead a local underwriting team, providing technical advice, guidance, and support to ensure the successful delivery of Trade Credit solutions.
  • Collaborate with other functions, including Credit Officers, to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.
  • Set, agree, and deliver financial and budgetary goals for the country, ensuring alignment with AIG's overall business objectives.
Requirements
  • Studies in economics, actuarial, accounting, and/or business administration.
  • Several years of successful experience in banking and/or insurance, preferably in credit insurance, working capital/receivables finance.
  • Proven experience in financial and balance sheet analysis, with a strong understanding of credit risk management.
  • Excellent leadership and development skills, with the ability to motivate and grow talent.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to express clearly and precisely at C-level.
  • Ability to work in a team, with a willingness to make decisions and take ownership of key outcomes.
