Automotive Sales Planner (Customer Support)

Job Objective
Act as a liaison between internal and external clients, collaborating with all relevant Planning Logistics personnel at the manufacturing facility. Ensure a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and maintain effective communication and negotiation with clients regarding operational goals and limitations.
Provide a unified point of contact for customers from the moment demand is received until the final product is delivered to their facilities.
Continuously enhance delivery service levels while optimizing logistics expenses.
Assist in training fellow Sales Planners in their daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities, providing support during escalations, system configurations, and customer communications. Ensure accurate master data and system settings, while promoting ongoing process improvements.
Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and national and international regulations concerning the processing of internal and external customer orders and the initiation of deliveries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage complex internal and external customer orders throughout the entire process chain, including monitoring Kanban control loops and managing consignment movements.
  2. Ensure timely delivery of complex customer orders by establishing daily, weekly, and monthly production planning priorities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  3. Maintain customer satisfaction through effective communication regarding delivery timelines, supply situations, constraints, complaints, damages, or changes in specifications.
  4. Investigate root causes of delivery delays and communicate revised delivery schedules to customers, including participation in customer visits for operational clarifications.
  5. Collaborate with responsible parties to address discrepancies in inventory levels.
  6. Enhance planning quality at the facility by analyzing slow-moving products and bottleneck devices, sharing insights with the local planning team for optimization initiatives.
  7. Accurately enter and manage IT-based master data relevant to the area of responsibility.
  8. Regularly review customer portals for new logistics requirements, performance evaluations, and logistical claims, initiating necessary actions.
  9. Contribute to achieving planned finished goods inventory levels for complex ongoing projects, as well as for ramp-ups, phase-outs, relocations, and engineering change notices (ECNs). Proactively inform all relevant internal planning positions about changes in customer requirements to support long-term demand and capacity planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Degree in engineering, administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industries such as metal mechanics, machining, electromechanical integration, or automotive.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English (70-80% written, spoken, and reading).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SAP (required).
