About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Technology Services Consultant to join our team at SAP. As a key member of our Enterprise Cloud Services Delivery Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for our customers across multiple infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle incidents, alerts, and service requests related to database support and services.
  • Deliver and maintain complex SAP landscapes, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Plan, set up, implement, and operate SAP technologies, achieving ambitious service level agreements.
  • Conceptualize, design, configure, and administer server landscapes with a focus on Linux operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues that impact customer business operations.
  • Manage daily operations, ensuring high availability and proper documentation of technical operational concepts and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with international teams in global projects and crisis handling initiatives.
Requirements
  • BE/BTech/MCA from a reputable institute.
  • 7-9 years of work experience as a Database Administrator in a Global Operations team, primarily on SAP HANA and ASE Database Platforms.
  • 5-7 years of work experience as a Database Administrator in a Global Operations team, primarily on commercial RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2, etc.).
  • Exposure to automation tools/scripting or processes.
  • DB installations and upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation.
  • DB concept on security, backup, and recovery strategies, system copies, high availability, and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, and replication.
  • Organize/structure day-to-day documentation.
  • Willingness to take on-call duty/weekend tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of public cloud domains like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Experience working in an international environment, being able to work effectively with international and virtual teams.
  • Capable in technical documentation and creation of knowledge-based assets (KBAs).
  • Ability to continuously acquire new knowledge proactively and independently.
  • Analytical and solution-oriented thinking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge in UNIX/Linux environment, HANA DB, and Sybase ASE databases.
  • Scripting experience - any of Shell, Perl, Python, Go, or similar.
  • Working experience in Virtualization (XEN, VMware).
  • Experience with OS monitoring.
  • Experience with at least one of the public cloud service providers (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform).
