Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team at Gates Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining safety and environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety and environmental programs to manage risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure ongoing compliance, including training and record-keeping activities.
- Establish and maintain ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 management systems to assess and control HSE risks.
- Conduct audits and inspections to identify system-level weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
- Main point of contact for third-party management systems audits and responsible for responding to audit findings.
- Establish and maintain a contractor HSE program to manage HSE risks associated with contractor activities.
- Develop Emergency Response plans and ensure drills are conducted and corrective actions are identified and implemented.
- Create and manage budgets for HSE activities.
- Drive efforts to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing processes, including hazardous and solid waste minimization and reduced water and energy consumption.
- Manage all requirements related to chemical management, including chemical approvals, GHS-compliant labeling, employee training, and proper disposition.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health, safety, and environment, with a focus on manufacturing industry.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental management, engineering, business, or closely related field.
- Familiarity with ISO management systems (14001, 45001) and working knowledge of safety codes, EPA regulations, and other regulatory agencies.
- Control of hazardous energy, lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, machinery and machine guarding, powered industrial vehicles (PIV), confined space entry, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
