Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Sales Director to lead our sales efforts in Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the polymer industry or related chemical sector, with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The Commercial Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing effective sales strategies, managing complex sales cycles, and negotiating contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a Go-to-Market strategy from scratch and implement comprehensive sales strategies to maximize the distribution of branded polymers across various industries in Mexico.
- Develop relationships with key strategic suppliers as an alternative to market their product in the region.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and formulate effective market penetration strategies.
- Build up an organization and look for synergies with current other business unit structures.
- Develop, lead, and motivate a high-performing sales team to achieve sales targets and profitability goals.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, customers, distributors, and partners to drive brand loyalty and satisfaction.
- Drive the acquisition of new customers and business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship-building activities.
- Develop market entry strategies and establish distribution channels to capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including commercial personnel, operations, and finance, to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years' experience leading a commercial team with a proven track record of success within the polymer industry or related chemical sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on driving business growth and profitability.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies, manage complex sales cycles, and negotiate contracts.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Mexico and occasionally internationally as needed.
