Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to lead our development efforts in Latin America. This role is based in Mexico or Guatemala, with flexibility regarding the specific city. The work mode for this position is flexible, offering a blend of remote and on-site work depending on the candidate's location and the needs of the organization.

About the Role
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 60–100 major and principal gift level donors, with an annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000 from directly managed prospects/donors. You will lead the development of network and cultivation of donors in assigned countries, develop fundraising strategy and plan to reach goals.

Responsibilities

• Engage and collaborate with conservation staff, country directors, volunteers and other development staff to ensure proposals for support are meeting TNC's highest level needs.
• Work independently and in supervisor's stead as needed, exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.
• Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.
• Ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements.
• Travel frequently and on short notice, work flexible hours as needed.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Business, Communications, Marketing, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.
• At least 6 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or business development, preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Proven success in managing donor portfolios, including soliciting and closing gifts over $50,000.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (oral and written).
