About the Role

Role Purpose

The Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the establishment of a center of excellence. This position focuses on ensuring the availability of supplies and equipment, nurturing interdepartmental relationships, and organizing training while providing ongoing support to the center's personnel. The supervisor will drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure a superior customer experience. As the site evolves, this role will expand to include responsibilities in reporting and quality assurance leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage multiple tasks and solve problems independently.
  • Inspire and motivate team members to maintain high morale.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare the site and staff for success, facilitating training and managing project timelines.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact, engaging with stakeholders at all levels to foster collaboration.
  • Support strategic initiatives and ensure accountability for achieving business-related goals.
  • Identify opportunities for personal and professional development among team members through coaching and training.
  • Uphold and promote company policies and procedures among employees.
  • Monitor performance to meet established objectives and maintain quality standards.
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate personnel.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to attract and onboard skilled individuals.
  • Develop and implement team-building strategies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders and requests.
  • Utilize metrics to track and enhance performance.
  • Work closely with other department management to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain regular communication with employees regarding customer, market, and competitor insights.
  • Present a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Exemplify excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Leverage knowledge of systems and processes to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Promote RS Americas culture and vision among staff, supporting both organizational and individual growth.
  • Advocate for health and safety initiatives by encouraging safe practices and proactive communication to mitigate risks.

The Operations Supervisor is expected to adhere to strict company procedures and report progress to their department supervisor. They will also assist with business development initiatives and contribute ideas during company meetings to enhance the business model and profitability. It is essential for supervisors to ensure that team members understand their objectives and how they contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Education and Experience:

A preferred four-year degree in Business or a related field, with experience in electronic distribution and previous management roles being advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in establishing new customer service centers and shared services teams, or migrating tasks between centers.
  • Leadership experience in quality program management.
