About the Role

Role Purpose

The Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the establishment of a center of excellence. This position focuses on ensuring the availability of supplies and equipment, nurturing positive interdepartmental relationships, and organizing training while providing ongoing support to the center's workforce. The individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure a superior customer experience. As the site evolves, this role will expand to include responsibilities in reporting and quality assurance leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Inspire and motivate team members while maintaining high morale.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare the site and employees for success, facilitate training, and uphold project timelines and objectives.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact, engaging stakeholders at all levels and fostering cross-team collaboration for success.
  • Support strategic initiatives and maintain accountability for achieving related business goals.
  • Identify opportunities for personal and professional development among staff, enhancing individual skills through coaching and training.
  • Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures among employees.
  • Monitor performance to ensure established goals and objectives are met, leading the establishment and maintenance of quality programs and productivity standards.
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate personnel.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to identify and onboard talented individuals.
  • Develop and implement team-building strategies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders.
  • Address all customer requests with precision and promptness.
  • Utilize metrics to monitor and enhance performance.
  • Work closely with other department management to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain regular communication with employees regarding customers, markets, competitors, and supplier partners.
  • Uphold a professional image at all times.
  • Exemplify excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Leverage knowledge of systems and cross-functional processes to drive continuous improvement and efficiency, enhancing employee productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote RS Americas culture and vision throughout the staff by engaging across the business to support both organizational and individual growth.
  • Advocate for RS Group Health & Safety initiatives by encouraging safe operating practices and proactively addressing safety risks.

In all activities, the Operations Supervisor must adhere to strict company procedures and report progress to their departmental supervisor. This role may also involve assisting with business development tasks and participating in company meetings to share ideas for enhancing the business model and increasing profitability. Additionally, Operations Supervisors will ensure that team members are clear about their objectives to contribute value to the organization. Typically, this role will have a market or functional focus within the company.

Education and Experience:

A preferred four-year degree in Business or a related field. Experience in electronic distribution is advantageous. Previous management experience is also preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in establishing new customer service centers and shared services teams, or in migrating tasks and responsibilities between centers.
  • Experience in leading quality programs.
