Senior UX Content Designer

Role Overview

In this position as a Senior UX Content Designer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading comprehensive UX content solutions within our digital platforms.
  • Identifying user needs and challenges, shaping the overall solution through a user-centered design approach.
  • Guiding and mentoring junior and mid-level UX content professionals.
  • Executing tasks with efficiency and independence, proactively resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Navigating ambiguous situations by leveraging data and foundational UX principles to inform decisions and solve problems.
  • Applying critical thinking to ensure the right experience is crafted for the content.
  • Showcasing the significant impact of language and visual communication across design, research, product, and development teams.
  • Educating the organization on the value of UX content, design, and research methodologies, and the importance of cross-team collaboration for enhancing user experience.
  • Establishing foundational processes, standards, metrics, and engagement protocols that foster valuable partnerships across UX, product, and development teams.
  • Expanding UX content writing capabilities into organizational frameworks through design systems, mapping, and taxonomy.
  • Engaging in content strategy initiatives, such as:
    • Assessing product lines or digital experiences for UX content enhancement opportunities.
    • Defining and refining voice and tone elements for both distinct and interconnected products.
    • Assisting team members and partners in aligning with processes related to project planning, asset management, and design systems.
    • Identifying and addressing gaps within team processes.
    • Leading empathy/content/feature mapping and other discovery planning sessions in collaboration with UX design and research.
    • Preparing for and facilitating cross-content ideation workshops and training sessions.
    • Advocating for customers during product prioritization discussions.
    • Embracing a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for development.

Candidate Profile

You are an ideal candidate if your background includes:

  • A Bachelor's degree in writing, marketing, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of progressive experience in UX writing/content design, particularly for complex software products (cloud, app, or web).
  • A keen attention to detail, ensuring consistent and thoughtful outputs for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of contemporary design thinking and best practices in UX content design.
  • A strong user-centric focus and the ability to influence within complex organizational structures.
  • Experience in promoting the significance of UX content writing/design within a large organization.
  • Extensive collaboration with designers and developers in UX, creative, marketing, or similar environments.
  • The capability to take initial guidance, execute tasks, and deliver valuable outputs independently.
  • Proficiency in work management and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • A solid grasp of agile UX methodologies and collaboration with design, research, product, and development teams.
  • Familiarity with UX content KPIs and success metrics.
  • The ability to present influential information to senior leadership during project updates.
  • An understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and their application to content strategy.
  • Advanced knowledge of maintaining style guidelines and brand voice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards such as AODA or WCAG AA/AAA as they pertain to UX content.
  • Experience with agile management tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.
  • Knowledge of content management systems and analytics tools.
  • Understanding of qualitative and quantitative methods for assessing UX content success.
