As a seasoned professional in the luxury entertainment sector, you will be responsible for leading and driving top-line revenue for traditional sales segments. Your expertise in customer acquisition and retention strategies will be crucial in developing and implementing a sales strategy that meets the hotel's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a sales strategy that drives revenue growth and meets the hotel's budget and market share targets.
- Manage and lead a team of sales professionals to achieve sales goals and targets.
- Assess and react to market trends, market share, and the competitive hotel environment.
- Develop and implement a marketing and communications plan to achieve the desired positioning of the hotel.
- Identify and research potential accounts and clients, generate leads, and set up meetings and presentations to keep the hotel's pipeline consistently full of opportunities.
- Use the hotel's computerized sales management system to manage the hotel's business, including generating reports, entering business, blocking space, building accounts, and logging activities.
- Fluent in reading and assimilating financial P&L, forecasting, and able to understand and communicate market trends, demand generators, supply and demand, and economic factors affecting hotel performance.
- Conduct comprehensive competitive set reviews, SWOT analysis, and keep tabs on new supply.
- Develop and implement key segment strategy and manage key accounts.
- Develop sales goals designed to achieve budget and market share targets.
- Manage group pace measurement and set sales production goals.
- Manage sales activity and travel schedule.
- Participate in weekly Sales Meeting, Operations Meeting, BEO Meeting, and any other required meetings relevant to the role.
- Develop relevant brand partnerships and activations that help drive awareness and differentiation.
- Collaborate with agency partners (PR, Social, Digital) where appropriate and orchestrate strategies and tactics that support established KPIs that will positively impact the hotel.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years' experience as a Group Sales Manager, with prior hotel sales experience.
- Experience dealing with and communicating with ownership groups and asset management.
- Proficient in managing and using PMS systems.
- Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.
- Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources, as well as the ability to develop a strategic plan for each.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment, direct, lead, train, motivate, and drive a direct sales team, and develop a cooperative and competitive team spirit.
- Must be proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Superior negotiation skills - proven ability to close deals.
- Hospitality is a 24/7 industry, therefore, candidates should anticipate working weekends and holidays as needed.
- Sales skills - possesses strong ability to influence and/or persuade buying decisions and to close sales or gain commitment from others, creates good rapport, and exhibits the ability to grow and maintain key partnerships.
- Communication - has both verbal and written skills, in order to effectively execute meetings and events.
