Cloud Operations Manager, AWS Managed Services

As a Cloud Operations Manager at Amazon, you will play a critical role in leading the team responsible for managing the company's cloud infrastructure. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the cloud environment, ensuring that it is running smoothly and efficiently, and making strategic decisions to improve its performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and management to a team of cloud operations engineers, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the management of Amazon's cloud infrastructure, including the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud resources such as virtual machines, storage, and networking.
- Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence across the cloud environment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Customer Focus: Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and sales, to ensure that cloud operations are aligned with business objectives.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, including experience with cloud infrastructure management and team leadership.
- Strong technical background, including experience with cloud service offerings (AWS, Azure, etc.) and protocols (HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- MBA in an engineering or IT-related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a systems administrator or software development engineer, with a strong understanding of Web services, systems administration (Linux and/or Windows), Networking, Java, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
