Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Costing Specialist to join our Financial Planning Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing an effective costing methodology, providing accurate financial information, and supporting the organization's budgeting and financial analysis processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a costing methodology that provides accurate information for the organization
  • Oversee the costs of CIMMYT's Engagement, Operations, and Engagements chapters
  • Support the updated Chargeback Rates and Costing Manual
  • Perform monthly Indirect Cost and Chargeback analysis
  • Provide support for BISA financial costing analysis
  • Participate in the Institutional yearly Budget Process
  • Prepare and upload the Budget for support and institutional units in the system
  • Monitor expenses and control variations to avoid over-expenditure
  • Prepare and send monthly and quarterly financial management information and reports
  • Prepare the Budget versus actuals monthly comparison and analysis
  • Manage big databases in excel to provide financial analysis
  • Prepare accurate financial reports in compliance with international and other standards and agreements
  • Support the Integrate Management Reporting Package (IMRP) in a monthly basis
  • Work closely with different areas to obtain necessary information for budget analysis
  • Support financial information and Reporting Manager activities
  • Support financial information and analysis around the W1 contributions
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in finance, accounting, budget, forecast, expenses analysis
  • Knowledge of financial systems, ERP, MS office, managing large databases, data extraction methods, report presentation, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of relevant and timely financial management information
  • Strongly developed analytical skills and the ability to identify financial trends
  • Advance in excel skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and plan
  • Proactive and flexible, able to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to details
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with good written/oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure, and as a member of a diverse work team
