Accountability and Scope

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for understanding and incorporating our company philosophy, values, and sales initiatives into all your behaviors, practices, and decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Visit customers, new or existing, to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Sell our complete product line and provide customers with basic design assistance and product demonstrations.
  • Meet and/or exceed annual sales goals, including bookings, gross profit dollar, and gross profit percentage.
  • Provide sales, marketing, and application engineering coverage in an assigned area.
  • Maintain professionalism, customer service, and customer focus while building strategic partnerships with potential and existing customers.
  • Develop and maintain partnering relationships with vendor representatives.
  • Work effectively with the branch sales group assigned to your territory.
  • Effectively communicate the status of current customer activities and/or new prospects throughout our organization.
  • Participate in joint sales calls with the Outside Sales Director, as necessary.
  • Submit periodic sales reports and expenses as required, within applicable policies and budgetary allowances.
  • Attend regularly scheduled and impromptu sales meetings and company-sponsored training, meetings, and events, as required.
Education

A BA or BS degree in Marketing, Engineering, or Business is preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience.

Qualifications
  • Desirable or advanced knowledge of chemical industry materials and specifications, projects.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Clear and accurate documentation skills.
  • Strong follow-through and perseverance to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and ethically with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to be detailed oriented and perform in-depth research, if required.
  • Strong competency working with integrated data systems, Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and intermediate to advanced Word and Excel.
  • Ability to travel.
Experience
  • 5 years minimum chemical industry outside sales experience, or 5 years chemical inside sales experience required.
  • Current contacts and working relationships within the chemical/industrial market.
  • Demonstrated basic to intermediate knowledge of our customers, product lines, and sales initiatives.
  • Proven knowledge of industry materials and specification requirements.
  • Proven sales growth in territory experience.
