Executive Business Development Manager for Plastics Distribution

Purpose of the PositionThis role is responsible for driving profitable growth in a defined territory by providing solutions to current and prospective customers. The Senior Account Manager position aims to achieve volume, revenue, and margin growth targets by expanding Nexeo's share with existing and new customers through the sale of product and service offerings.
This position reports to the Regional Sales Director – Northwest Region and requires strategic and tactical solutions in a business-to-business selling environment. The focus lies on acquiring, penetrating, managing, and retaining customers by building strong relationships and understanding their objectives, needs, and profitability drivers.
Description of Key Responsibilities- Territory Planning: Develops an in-depth understanding of the territory environment, current accounts, prospects, competitors, and suppliers.
- Account Planning & Customer Knowledge: Gains insight into customer objectives, needs, and profitability drivers.
- Ownership & Performance Focus: Takes ownership of the territory and drives performance.
- Coordination & Leadership: Establishes relationships within Nexeo and within the customer organization.
- Market Knowledge: Stays updated and informed on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory issues.
- Technical Knowledge: Identifies technical needs of customers and communicates effectively to build customer technical relationships.
- Value Proposition: Understands and sells the entire value offering from Nexeo.
- Communication: Presents solutions to customers while being aware of their context.
- Negotiations & Solution Agreement: Possesses sound judgment and problem-solving skills to create mutually beneficial solutions.
- Implementation Management: Adapts to additional customer demands and needs.
- Sales Administration: Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Pipeline and Quotation Management: Manages the pipeline proactively, recognizing customers' stages in the decision cycle.
- Bachelor's degree; in engineering or chemistry, business, or similar field preferred.
- 5-8 years of plastics distribution sales or related industry experience is preferred.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is required.
- Willingness to travel 50%.
- Proven track record of delivering consistent and long-term growth.
- Ability to build relationships and resolve customer complaints or concerns.
- Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word Suite, SAP, CRM/ERP systems, and Salesforce preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with internal and external customers.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nexeo Plastics offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
