About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Open Source Sales Director to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our global sales organization, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding our customer base in your assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute a Territory Plan: Build and execute a comprehensive territory plan to prioritize outreach and prospecting efforts, allocate portions of territory and accounts to sales representatives, and identify and prioritize new logo accounts for account-based marketing and prospecting.
  • Lead a Team of Sales Representatives: Allocate portions of territory and accounts to sales representatives, ensure they have high-quality account plans for existing accounts and priority prospects, and monitor new pipeline development through outreach, prospecting, local marketing, and industry events.
  • Drive Sales Performance: Support contract closure to meet and exceed quarterly and annual bookings targets, be mindful and proactive in achieving tactical and strategic objectives, and work with customer success to identify growth opportunities.
  • Represent the Company: Represent Canonical, its solutions, and software to customers, partners, and industry stakeholders, and ensure your team maintains accurate pipeline data and forecasts within Salesforce.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in managing a team of sales representatives.
  • Open Source Technology Experience: Experience with open source technology and solutions, with a strong understanding of the open source ecosystem.
  • Enterprise Software Sales Experience: Proven track record of achievement in enterprise software sales, with experience in planning and executing sales strategies.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze complex business problems and develop effective solutions.
