About the Role

As a Support Engineering Operations Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for leading a team of operations engineers and working closely with senior stakeholders to improve operational practices. You will also work across customer organizations and multiple AWS teams to ensure customers receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and Execute Business Priorities: Develop strategic goals for the team, plan and document key projects and initiatives, and track progress against goals.
  • Team and Performance Development: Manage team performance, mentor team members, and maintain a well-rounded, world-class organization.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence across the site and globe, identify and own initiatives to optimize operational teams.
  • Recruiting and Hiring: Work with internal resources to ensure customer SLAs are met, raise awareness of customer-impacting issues, and drive prioritization for fixes and responses.

About the Team

Amazon's technology business has a history of leading the world in Web-related technologies and services. As a member of the AWS Support team, you will be at the forefront of Cloud technologies, interacting with the full breadth of AWS services.

Our Support Engineering Team

We resolve customer technical issues ranging from EC2 Linux general guidance to complex Big Data configuration and 3rd party integration issues. Our engineers develop tools, interact with peers, and are involved in hiring efforts and training new members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: In Engineering, Computer Science, or IT-related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of managing engineering teams, technical background, and working knowledge of protocols and cloud service offerings.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in delivering key business outcomes, project/program management.
  • Communication: Able to communicate effectively in English, within technical and business settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA: In an engineering or IT-related discipline.
  • Technical Experience: In AWS services, handling large enterprise technical customer escalations, systems administration, and software development.
