Our services empower millions of companies, ranging from large enterprises to innovative startups, to manage payments, enhance revenue, and seize new business opportunities. Our mission is to elevate the GDP of the internet, presenting a unique opportunity to influence the global economy while engaging in meaningful work.

About the Team

A significant factor in our success is our unwavering commitment to our workforce. We recognize that our competitive edge stems from our talent, and we aim to cultivate a sustainable advantage by attracting, empowering, and nurturing exceptional individuals to excel in their careers.

Stripe is seeking a People Operations Specialist to enhance our global team. This position will be based in Mexico City, Mexico, focusing on the North America and Latin America regions. People Operations Specialists support and empower managers at Stripe to develop and lead effective teams. They utilize policies, research, insights, and cross-functional collaborations (including legal counsel and Employee Relations) to guide managers and facilitate meaningful, equitable, effective, and compliant experiences for Stripes.

What You'll Do

As a People Operations Specialist, you will contribute to making Stripe an outstanding workplace. You will collaborate with, coach, and advise Stripe's people managers on various people-related matters, including performance management, coaching, career development, employee relations, and navigating organizational changes. This dynamic role involves working with Stripes across all levels, functions, and regions, providing a significant opportunity to influence the culture of a rapidly growing global tech company.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and advise Stripe's people managers on all aspects of people management, including performance management, coaching, employee relations, and team culture.
  • Work alongside a cross-functional team to develop and implement a consistent performance management framework across Stripe, considering local or regional needs.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of legal and regulatory factors and Stripe's HR policies to effectively support managers and employees.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on Stripe's People policies and best practices, in collaboration with People Partners and program leaders.
  • Partner with legal counsel and external advisors to assist managers with complex or sensitive issues, ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
  • Support managers in the seamless implementation of People programs, including performance reviews, compensation cycles, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and propose scalable solutions to enhance people processes, engaging managers and leaders for input as necessary.
  • Ensure positive employee experiences throughout key lifecycle stages, including onboarding and offboarding.
  • Analyze workforce data and present insights to managers or HR partners, managing the tracking and reporting of relevant people metrics.
  • Foster a culture of empathy, humility, optimism, belonging, and inclusivity.

Who You Are

We are looking for candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. If you fulfill these criteria, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Preferred qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-8 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in a client-facing HR role or equivalent experience in a business-facing capacity.
  • Proven experience collaborating with managers on performance management, coaching, employee relations, and team dynamics.
  • Experience supporting managers during the implementation of company-wide HR initiatives, such as performance reviews and talent assessments.
  • Familiarity with interpreting and applying HR policies across a diverse workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices in Mexico and Brazil.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of diagnosing issues using data and developing effective solutions.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced, growing environment, ideally within a technology company or large organization.
  • Background in supporting frontline managers across various functions.
  • Experience in creating or facilitating training materials, workshops, or educational content.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to design and execute processes while engaging stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven capability to identify areas for improvement and escalate recurring issues to decision-makers as needed.
  • Experience utilizing company policies to inform recommendations or actions.

In-Office Expectations

Employees assigned to offices are generally expected to spend a minimum of 50% of their time in the office each month. This expectation may vary based on role, team, and location, with some teams requiring higher in-office attendance to support user needs and workflows. This approach balances in-person collaboration with flexibility.

Pay and Benefits
