Job Summary

Cemex is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Strategist to support the execution of M&A transactions across geographies worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, M&A, and corporate strategy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop valuation models (DCF, multiples, etc.) and evaluate transaction investment metrics to support M&A transactions.
  • Assess business development opportunities in CEMEX and non-CEMEX markets and geographies to identify potential growth areas.
  • Analyze market conditions, competitive dynamics, and industry performance to inform business development strategies.
  • Participate in and potentially lead work streams of internal consulting projects for CEMEX worldwide across our 4 core businesses (cement, ready-mix, aggregates, and Urbanization Solutions).
  • Prepare materials and present recommendations for top management meetings, including Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and other events.
  • Work and coordinate with corporate staff and regional operational areas, including finance, legal, tax, accounting, sustainability, operations, and technical, R&D, among others.
  • Engage and coordinate with internal and external project stakeholders, including external advisors.
  • Coordinate with external entities, including banks, consultants, counsels, among others.
  • Develop junior members of the team.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent desired, but not mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of work experience in M&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, Finance, Controllership, Corporate Planning, Business Development, Innovation, or equivalent areas.
  • Advanced English required (C1/C2 or TOEFL/IELTS equivalent).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
