About Koltin

Koltin is a pioneering health insurance company catering exclusively to older Mexicans. For the first time, individuals over 60 years old, the fastest-growing demographic in the country, have access to private health insurance and proactive, personalized, and remote-first healthy aging support.

We're seeking a visionary Head of Data to spearhead all aspects of data, encompassing data engineering, machine learning, and analytics. You'll play a pivotal role in building the data foundations for our products and services, working closely with the CEO and world-class mentors to design and implement scalable data solutions and ensure that data supports our core business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Architect and develop robust data pipelines to ingest, process, and serve data from various sources, ensuring data quality, integrity, and timeliness.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small team of data engineers, scientists, and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Integration and ETL: Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data pipelines seamlessly into our existing systems and workflows.
  • Data Warehousing: Establish and maintain data warehousing and ETL processes to support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Technology Evaluation: Identify and evaluate new data technologies and tools to enhance our data capabilities.
  • Data Documentation: Develop and maintain data documentation.
  • Data Integrity: Implement best-in-class data integrity practices.

Qualifications
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Airbyte, Dagster, DBT).
  • Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and database technologies.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and data storage solutions (e.g., S3, BigQuery).
  • Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data integrity best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
