About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our Enterprise Computing Global Support team at Altair Engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing dedicated support to our customers, including Semiconductor Manufacturers in the Americas region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical support, including troubleshooting and developing workarounds for technical product issues.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison to our customers, providing training and knowledge to ensure effective use of our products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Services, Engineering, and Marketing, to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to product direction and provide input to Business and Marketing teams to accurately describe product features and capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent, or EDA/HPC System Administrator experience.
  • 5-10 years of EDA/HPC cluster deployment and support experience.
  • Strong computer science and systems-level knowledge, including networking, operating systems, file systems, high availability, and containers.
  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills, including analyzing system and application logs, strace, lsof, gdb, and gstack.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Linux shell scripting.
  • Excellent communication, people, time management, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • C, C++, and Tcl experience.
  • Experience with workload management/job scheduling software in an HPC/EDA environment.
