Pre-Sales Engineer I
The Pre-Sales Engineer I plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise and guidance on data center maintenance and network optimization. This individual will work closely with first-year sales associates to consult with prospects and customers, designing and architecting technical solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to technical inquiries from the sales force, identifying proper solutions and support caveats.
- Participate in discovery and technical conference calls, serving as the technical resource on hardware and software architecture, network architecture, and managed service offerings.
- Develop and enhance technical expertise, sales ability, account management skills, and exceptional customer focus.
- Create and deliver technical product and support presentations for external partners and customers.
- Present capability assessments and validations as it applies to the technical sales process.
- Pursue business development opportunities to align with the company's global business objectives and profit margin goals.
- Provide coaching and professional development to first-year sales associates to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and best practices.
- Monitor technical solutions proposed throughout the sales process and alert the account teams to potential risks of deal closure.
Requirements:
- A minimum of three years of successful technical sales and/or pre-sales experience.
- Basic knowledge of data center topology, hardware, and software.
- Experience with selling server and enterprise storage and/or hardware maintenance solutions.
- Experience with selling Data Center Technologies or running Data Centers.
- Knowledge of legacy hardware technologies a plus.
- Experience with sales training a plus.
- Evidence of strong written and verbal communications skills.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Will take experience into consideration.
