We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team at Ensitech. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for our Java applications.

Our company has been in the software development market for over 19 years and has established itself as a leader in custom software development. We work with large companies in the United States, Europe, and Canada, and our collaborators work with different teams and colleagues around the world.

As a Technical Support Specialist for Java Applications, your primary responsibility will be to take full ownership of customer-reported issues, typically managed in a case tracking system. You will comprehend the reported issue or scenario, seek additional details from Level 1 support or the case reporter as necessary, find solutions using a knowledge base, and ensure communication with stakeholders is within agreed turnaround times (TAT).

You will also guide Level 1 or Level 3 resources and respond to their questions, examine logs and error messages to relate them to the code and suggest possible solutions, reproduce issues in a lab environment to gather more information or resolve the problem, escalate issues to Level 3 support if necessary, create detailed bug reports in the bug tracking system, document procedures, and prepare runbooks.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will monitor various system components (jobs, processes, queues, DB procedures, log files, alerts) to ensure healthy system functioning, identify and suggest additional monitoring tools and processes to enhance system upkeep, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.

To be successful in this role, you should have 1-3 years of strong understanding of Java programming, including the ability to write, read, and debug Java code, experience working in Unix/Linux environments, including using command line commands and reviewing system logs, and experience with relational databases and the ability to write and understand SQL queries.

You should also have familiarity with tools such as JConsole, JVisualVM, and other performance monitoring and analysis tools, as well as the ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to various stakeholders. A plus would be experience working with Kafka/MongoDB/Micro services based architecture.

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience. This job takes place some days from home and others at the office in Ciudad de México (Mexico).
