About the Team

The Platform Sales team collaborates with B2B Software Platforms, assisting them in implementing payment solutions for their clientele through our Stripe Connect product. These Software Platforms, often referred to as B2B Indirect, are businesses that provide services to other enterprises. Notable platforms leveraging Stripe include Shopify, Lightspeed, and Mindbody.

As an integral member of the Stripe Platforms team, you will oversee and enhance relationships with a designated account portfolio while uncovering new growth avenues and strategies for exceeding client expectations.

What You'll Do

In the role of Account Executive, you will forge partnerships between Stripe and the most innovative software platforms globally, guiding them to recognize how Stripe's online commerce infrastructure can transform payments into a competitive edge for their operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and cultivate a designated account portfolio, crafting strategic account plans to secure and expand business with upper middle market and enterprise clients.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, ensuring appropriate executive engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of our platform partnership strategy, creating scalable processes and engagement models.
  • Design and implement outbound strategies to generate and nurture new opportunities.
  • Oversee the complete sales cycle from lead generation to closure for upper middle market and enterprise clients.
  • Build relationships with executive stakeholders at both new and existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with leaders across various functions (e.g., Engineering, Product, and Finance) to facilitate complex product workshops and financial evaluations.
  • Participate in team initiatives aimed at refining our sales processes.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence product strategy.

Who You Are

You are a skilled salesperson and relationship builder, adept at engaging in both business-level and technical discussions across various organizational levels, including CTOs, COOs, and CFOs. Your experience includes working with upper middle market and enterprise companies, with a deep understanding of the buyer journey, enabling you to lead complex, multi-party sales in a consultative manner. You excel in competitive situations, enjoying products that require both a comprehensive product understanding and technical expertise. Analytical by nature, you relish exploring business models and assisting clients in quantifying their investment decisions. You are enthusiastic about prospecting and capable of independently managing a sales cycle from initiation to completion. Additionally, you thrive in collaborative environments, actively contributing to the development of our sales processes, articulating our value proposition, and creating essential tools and resources.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of sales experience, ideally in a technical product environment, with a proven record of high performance.
  • Extensive experience in directly selling technology products or services, preferably in an API-first context, with a strong performance history.
  • Demonstrated ability to advance sales processes from inception to closure, leading complex, multi-party sales in a consultative manner.
  • Excellent listening skills, enabling you to quickly establish trust with decision-makers in technology and finance sectors within software companies.
  • Capability to comprehend intricate technical challenges and articulate how Stripe's solutions can effectively address them.
  • A positive mindset and relentless work ethic when facing obstacles, whether external or internal.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese preferred.
  • Strong presentation abilities.
  • Proven experience in leading complex negotiations involving customized commercial agreements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • A keen interest in technology and a solid understanding of the industry.
  • Experience or enthusiasm for learning about financial technology infrastructure.
  • Meticulous approach to CRM management and experience in utilizing sales forecasting metrics effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the digital and online payments sector.

In-Office Expectations

Employees assigned to office locations are generally expected to spend a minimum of 50% of their time in the office each month. This expectation may vary based on role, team, and location.
