Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and organized Legal Assistant to join our team at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, State of Mexico. The successful candidate will provide support to the Contract Life Cycle Management process, including drafting, review, negotiation, and management of contracts and agreements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Legal Department, including contract management, document preparation, and data entry.
- Assist in the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and guidelines to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team.
- Support the maintenance and implementation of tools and systems to streamline workflow automation within the Legal team and its internal clients.
- Prepare agendas, attend meetings, and take minutes; capture action items and ensure follow-up and prep information for participants.
- Liaise with Procurement to process requests for services, purchase, and maintenance of furniture/equipment and requisition of supplies required by the Department.
- Monitor and maintain the vehicles assigned to the Department, ensuring timely maintenance and checks.
- Assist with the preparation of lists, status charts, and data management integral to the Department.
- Support the curation of agreements and other document databases.
- Manage and track a high volume of tasks and projects.
- Participate in the optimization of processes for legal services and guidelines.
- Ensure proper follow-up of entrusted matters, tracking these matters daily in the provided dashboards and KPI monitoring tools.
- Bachelor's degree in law, administration, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in similar roles or activities.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish, with a minimum C1 CEFR score in English.
- Excellent organizational, writing, research, and communication skills, including the ability to communicate legal concepts to lay stakeholders.
- Proactive, communication, problem-solving, achievement orientation, flexibility/adaptability, multi-cultural awareness/sensitivity, teamwork, time management, and collaboration competencies.
