Strategic Business Development Manager

DAC Beachcroft LLP is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to drive the firm's growth and success in the public sector and infrastructure markets.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Business Development and Sector Business Partners to shape and execute the firm's strategic goals, focusing on cultivating opportunities in central government and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Strategic Business Plans: Work with the Head of Business Development to create and implement strategic business plans to win and retain profitable work for the public sector teams, with a focus on government and infrastructure opportunities.
- Identify and Track Sales Pipeline: Collaborate with the Bids team and Sector teams to identify and track sales pipeline, including contract renewals, to optimize the sales pipeline and ensure delivery of Bids Promises.
- Develop Client Relationships: Work closely with Client Relationship partners, CRM teams, and Account Managers to develop opportunities, particularly at framework level, and ensure alignment with client needs.
- Deliver Bids Promises: Work with legal framework owners to ensure the delivery of Bids Promises and Client commitments, and prepare for framework reviews and retender.
- Support Marketing Efforts: Collaborate with the Marketing team to support campaign-driven activity, promotion of new products, and ensure alignment with client needs.
- Plan Client Relationship Meetings: Plan and attend client relationship meetings with CRPs, when appropriate, to build strong relationships with clients.
- Share Best Practices: Share best practices through internal communication channels and stakeholder engagement forums to drive continuous improvement.
- Analyse Client Data: Analyse key client and prospect data and facilitate dashboard reporting for key stakeholders at a firm-wide and sector level to inform business decisions.
- Facilitate Client Development Workshops: Facilitate client development workshops to identify opportunities and drive CRM activity, and assist in the development and delivery of the sales and business development training programme.
- Develop Sales Tools: Assist in the development and delivery of sales tools to support the sales and business development efforts.
- Network and Build Relationships: Develop an internal and external network to share market insight and client intelligence, and create market-facing opportunities to drive growth and secure client relationships.
- Utilize CRM Database: Promote the effective use of the CRM database to support the management and growth of client accounts through the sales pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in Professional Services: Experience of working in the professional services sector and/or selling legal services.
- Knowledge of Public Sector: Knowledge of the public sector, central government, and infrastructure markets would be advantageous.
- Relationship Development: Experience of developing relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Client Account Management: Proven experience of managing client accounts, developing client plans, and client growth strategies.
- Market Understanding: Strong understanding of the market and its influencers, and a track record of using this knowledge to generate growth opportunities.
- Writing and Communication Skills: Strong writing skills and the ability to adapt style to different audiences and channels.
- Influencing and Coaching: Highly credible with the ability to influence, challenge, and coach senior stakeholders, and to build strong relationships with all levels of lawyers.
- Networking Skills: Strong networking skills, with the ability to connect the right people to opportunities.
- Project Management: Strong project management experience and a proven track record of creating and delivering complex projects with the ability to manage to tight deadlines.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong thirst for technical knowledge and application of knowledge to generate ideas.
- Best Practice Implementation: Proven experience of implementing best practice and initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Numeracy and Data Analysis: High levels of numeracy and strong ability to analyse information, including data manipulation.
