About This Position
We are seeking a seasoned and experienced leader to join IDB Invest as Managing Director for Central America, Haiti, Mexico, Panama and Dominican Republic. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful business development, deep knowledge of the region, and strong relationships with private sector companies operating in Central America and the Caribbean.

Main Responsibilities
• Maintain relationships with governments and participate in business development with private sector clients and entities.
• Provide guidance and oversight to Country Representatives, supporting their strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities.
• Oversee and be responsible for business performance from a regional perspective with the Delivery Units (organized teams by industries and regions responsible for originating, structuring, and supervising transactions).
• Together with the corresponding Country Representatives, shape country strategies from a private sector perspective.
• Define countries' priorities and strategies and establish upstream work.
• Identify, promote, and execute synergies with IDB and IDB Lab.
• Manage operational, human, capital, and budgetary resources at the unit level.
• Coordinate with IDB (VPS) and IDB Lab counterparts to promote synergies.

Requirements
• At least 10 years of relevant experience as a banker with a proven business track record.
• Proven regional expertise and strong relationships with the market and clients in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Master's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or another relevant field.
• Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank's official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required.
