About the Role

As a Business Development Manager for Plastics Sales at Avient, you will play a key role in driving profitable revenue growth and achieving gross margin targets. You will be responsible for pursuing sales of products to customers in a geography or market, with a focus on securing business from prospective and current accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecast and achieve annual objectives for sales, margins, and volume growth;
  • Develop and execute sales plans, sales budgets, and expense budgets;
  • Maintain current accounts and develop new accounts through effective customer management and strategic selling disciplines;
  • Work collaboratively with channel partners to close business based on customer purchasing requirements;
  • Contribute to the company's planning of long-term and short-term business objectives, including sales forecasts and volume goals.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field to plastics;
  • 3-5 years of experience in the chemical/plastic industry, with a strong background in tactical sales techniques, project following, order tracking, quotations, and process improvement;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Able to analyze customer requirements and objectives to recommend Avient product solutions;
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and data analysis.

Salary Estimate: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
